Britney Spears Is The New Face Of High-End Fashion Label Kenzo

By  |

I really love a good comeback story. And it doesn’t get much better than the rise and fall and rise of Britney Spears. We all watched as she ascended to Pop Queen in the 90’s and early naughts. Britney was IT. Her music, her style, her dancing: she was the whole package. But that package hid some dark secrets, and just as quickly as she rose, she fell in spectacular fashion. It was incredibly hard to watch this young woman go through what she went through. But Britney took some steps back, got herself in a better place, and slowly reentered the scene. The mom of two boys just finished a wildly successful residency in Las Vegas. She’s adorable on social media. And now, she’s the face of high-end fashion line Kenzo. We see you, Brit, and we’re here for it.

Britney Spears sat down with Vogue and talked about her next endeavor as the face of Kenzo.

The collection she was chosen for is called La Collection Memento. It’s a brash and bold tribute to the Kenzo jeans debut in 1986. Which makes Britney the PERFECT person to represent the line. Britney told Vogue, “I mean, ugly was the way to go in the ’80s, it was all just completely obnoxious—but there was also something so refreshing about that and the fact that we didn’t care what anyone thought about our clothes.”

The campaign was shot on the streets of Los Angeles, which was a departure from what Brit Brit is used to doing.

She says, “We had fun on set, even though it was a bit weird for me at first. I am used to shooting in a studio or a small space, and this was on the street. We were out there and I had really promiscuous clothes on, which felt odd, but, of course, on film it turned out to be really cool.”

Kenzo shared a behind-the-scenes video of the shoot, and it looks amazing. And Britney is in TOP form, shoo.

The collection is obviously pretty far out of the price-range that regular folks can afford ($125 for a t-shirt, mmmkay). Can we get a Britney for Target x Kenzo collab? I’d be all over that shit.
